If you are getting married at Wharfedale Grange, you have chosen one of Yorkshire's most distinctive barn wedding venues. Set in the countryside between Leeds and Harrogate, it combines dramatic interiors, fairy lights, gardens and open countryside, giving us a huge amount of variety for relaxed and natural wedding photography.
I am a preferred wedding photography supplier at Wharfedale Grange and have photographed several weddings here, including both photography and film coverage. My approach is relaxed and documentary-led, capturing the real moments of the day while keeping couple photographs short, natural and easy. As a Leeds wedding photographer, it is a venue I know well and genuinely enjoy working at.

My approach at Wharfedale Grange
Wharfedale Grange gives us plenty of photographic variety without needing to disappear for a long portrait session. Most of the day is photographed naturally while you are enjoying it, concentrating on reactions, laughter, family, friends and all the little moments happening around you.
When it is time for couple photographs, around 10 to 15 minutes is normally enough. We can use one or two areas close to the barns, give you simple guidance so nothing feels awkward, and get you back to your guests quickly.
I also offer wedding videography at Wharfedale Grange. Photography and film work especially well together here, from the ceremony and speeches through to the atmosphere of the South Barn and evening celebrations.
Photography tip: you do not need to choose between spending time with your guests and having great portraits here. A short session after the ceremony and another few minutes later if the light changes gives us plenty of variety without taking over the day.

How long do you need for couple photographs at Wharfedale Grange?
Usually around 10 to 15 minutes is enough. There are several useful locations close together, so we can create a good variety without taking you away from your guests for a large part of the drinks reception. If the light becomes particularly good later, we can always step outside again for another few minutes.
What happens if it rains?
Wharfedale Grange gives us plenty to work with indoors, so rain does not mean your photography has to stop. The barns have loads of character and atmosphere, and we can watch for a short break in the weather if you would also like some outdoor portraits.
Can you photograph an outdoor ceremony at Wharfedale Grange?
Yes. Wharfedale Grange has an oak-framed outdoor ceremony arbour overlooking the Yorkshire countryside. It creates a very different feel from a ceremony in the North Barn and gives us a lovely natural transition into confetti, drinks and photographs afterwards.
