If you are getting married at The Woodlands Hotel in Leeds, you are choosing one of the most beautiful woodland wedding venues in West Yorkshire. As a Leeds wedding photographer, I love photographing weddings here in a relaxed and natural way, using the gardens, mature greenery and different spaces around the venue without turning your wedding day into a long photoshoot.
Woodlands works particularly well because so much of the day can happen in one place. From preparations and the ceremony through to drinks, photographs and the evening celebrations, there is plenty of variety without needing to travel between locations.
I keep things simple and relaxed. Most of your photographs are captured while you are actually enjoying your wedding, with a focus on real moments, reactions, laughter and the people around you.
For couple photographs, we normally only need around 10 to 15 minutes. I will give you enough direction so you never feel awkward, create a good variety of portraits and then get you back to your guests.
If you would also like your day filmed, I offer wedding videography alongside photography, with the same relaxed and unobtrusive approach.
Photography tip: you do not need a long portrait session at Woodlands. A short 10 to 15 minute session in the gardens, followed by another few minutes later if the light changes, gives you plenty of variety without taking you away from the wedding.

Yes. I have photographed weddings at The Woodlands Hotel and know how to make the most of the different areas around the venue while keeping photography relaxed and efficient.
How long do you need for couple photographs? +
Usually around 10 to 15 minutes is plenty. I prefer to keep portraits relaxed and efficient so you are not taken away from your guests for a large part of the day. If the light changes later, we can always step outside for another very short session.
What if it rains on our wedding day? +
Rain is not a problem. We can use the hotel and its indoor spaces for photographs and keep an eye on the weather throughout the day. If we get a short dry spell, 10 minutes in the gardens is usually enough to create plenty of outdoor portraits without disrupting your wedding.
Do you offer wedding videography at The Woodlands Hotel? +

Can you photograph outdoor ceremonies at Woodlands? +
Yes. Outdoor ceremonies work beautifully at Woodlands when the weather allows, and the gardens make it very easy to move naturally into drinks, candid photographs and a short couple session afterwards.
