Photographing a wedding at Carlton Towers

The interiors bring warm colours, carved details and layers of light into the photographs. My approach is to use those surroundings while following what is happening: the preparations, a glance during the ceremony, guests catching up and the reactions during speeches. The house has a strong presence, but your photographs should still feel like your wedding.

A short portrait session can combine the front of the house and grounds with the staircase or interior spaces. Wide frames show the setting; closer photographs keep the connection between you at the centre. We can plan a little time for this around the ceremony and reception, rather than needing to disappear from your guests for a long stretch.

Light changes between rooms and throughout the day, so I plan the photographs around your timings and the conditions on the day. It helps to keep your family group list focused and allow a little flexibility for portraits. If the weather changes, the house provides a different setting for indoor photographs.
